Accommodation Madrid
Madrid accommodation comes in two
categories: Hotels and Hostales or Pensiónes.
Hotels are star rates from 1 to 5 stars, whereby Hostales have their
own rating system from 1 to 3 stars. Hostales are usually cheap, from
35 Euro a night, but don't expect a hotel boy carrying your heavy backs
to your accommodation door. Breakfast with this cheaper priced accommodation
is usually not included. Most double rooms have only twin beds. If you
want a double room you would need to ask exclusively for a "cama
de matremonio".
A main criteria in choosing a cheap hotel in Madrid is its location.
Accommodation Rates
In high season reserve your accommodation well in advance. Prices depend on character and facilities of the hotels however the stars
of a hotel does not say anything about service, ambience or the friendliness of hotel members. Deluxe rates are usually from 250 plus but Mid-range hotels
can start as low as 75 Euro a night going up to 150. Mid-range hotels even as cheap as 80 Euro would still include en suite bathroom, telephone and internet access.
Double check if air-conditioning is also available for the cheaper accommodations specially when you plan to travel Madrid in the summertime.
